These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of PathWay (“the Service”), operated by Pathway Edu Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About PathWay

PathWay is an AI-powered career guidance platform that provides personalised career pathway recommendations to students and young people aged 11–25, drawing on real labour market data from sources including the Office for National Statistics (ONS), HESA Graduate Outcomes, the DfE Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) dataset, and Adzuna.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for students aged 11 and above. Users under the age of 13 must have verifiable parental or guardian consent before creating an account. Users aged 13–15 should inform a parent or guardian before using the Service.

School administrators and careers advisors using the institutional portal must be employed by a licensed school or educational institution.

3. Accounts

3.1 Creating an account

You may use PathWay as a guest (without an account) or create a free student account to save your pathway results. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

3.2 School accounts

Schools and local authorities that license PathWay will receive institutional admin accounts governed by a separate School Licence Agreement. School admins may view pathway data for students who have linked their account to that institution.

4. Use of the Service

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Upload or transmit any harmful, offensive, or malicious content
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the Service to send unsolicited communications
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, software, and data on PathWay — including pathway data, algorithms, branding, and written content — is owned by or licensed to Pathway Edu Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Labour market data is sourced from public datasets (ONS, HESA, DfE LEO) under Open Government Licence v3.0. Job vacancy data is sourced from Adzuna under commercial licence.

6. Accuracy of Career Information

PathWay provides career guidance based on statistical labour market data and AI-generated insights. This information is indicative only and should not be taken as professional careers advice. We recommend using PathWay alongside qualified careers advisors where available.

Salary and employment data is updated periodically but may not reflect the most current market conditions. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of pathway recommendations.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of PathWay is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service you consent to the data practices described in that policy.

8. School Licensing

Schools and local authorities purchasing a PathWay licence agree to:

• Use the platform only for the number of students covered by their licence tier
• Obtain appropriate parental consents for students under 13 before enabling access
• Appoint a named Data Protection lead responsible for student data within the institution
• Not share login credentials or admin access outside of authorised staff
• Notify Pathway Edu Ltd within 72 hours of any suspected data breach involving student data

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pathway Edu Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or career outcomes.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pathway Edu Ltd and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your use of the Service.

11. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at our sole discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at the address below.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
